La noticia ya ha sido presentada en la mayoría de los medios pero obviamente teníamos que hacer eco también en nuestro blog. El motivo por el cual este artículo no apareció antes es simplemente porque quise esperar al seminario que hubo ayer en el CERN y así poder entregar información más confiable. Ahora el anuncio es oficial: el experimento llamado OPERA ha observado neutrinos que parecen moverse más rápido que la luz. Como científico, llevo varios años especializándome en el estudio de las posibles violaciones a la relatividad en neutrinos, motivo por el cual este anuncio tiene gran importancia para mí. Por el mismo motivo me atrevo a hablar del tema sin dejar de manifestar mi emoción si este resultado llega a confirmarse, sin embargo hay que ser cautelosos con el resultados así como también con las interpretaciones. Interesante artículo, sin embargo, debe tenerse cuidado de no caer en la tentación del reduccionismo.
